intended to strengthen agricultural production capacities throughout the nation and advance the horticultural supply chain.

The Vision Behind Project Mango Unnati

“Farmers are the backbone of India’s horticulture system

Project Mango Unnati is designed to address the challenges faced by mango farmers in India, including fluctuating yields, inadequate access to modern farming techniques, and market inefficiencies. The project’s vision is to create a sustainable ecosystem where mango farming thrives, benefiting both the farmers and the environment.

How would the partnership help mango farmers?

1. Sustainable Farming Practices:

The project emphasizes the adoption of sustainable farming techniques, such as efficient water management, organic fertilizers, and integrated pest management. These practices aim to improve soil health, reduce the environmental footprint, and enhance the quality of mangoes produced.

2. Farmer Training and Education:

One of the core components of Project Mango Unnati is providing farmers with comprehensive training programs. These programs focus on modern agricultural practices, efficient resource utilization, and innovative farming methods. By equipping farmers with knowledge and skills, the project aims to increase their productivity and income.

3. Improved Market Access:

Project Mango Unnati seeks to bridge the gap between farmers and the market. By establishing better supply chains and direct market linkages, the project ensures that farmers receive fair prices for their produce. This initiative also aims to reduce the dependency on middlemen, allowing farmers to retain a larger share of the profits.

4. Use of Technology:

Embracing technological advancements is a crucial aspect of the project. From precision farming tools to mobile-based advisory services, technology will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of mango cultivation. Farmers will have access to real-time data and expert advice, enabling them to make informed decisions.

Benefits to Farmers and the Community

Project Mango Unnati is set to create a ripple effect, positively impacting not only the farmers but also the broader community. Some of the expected benefits include:

  • Increased Yields and Income: By adopting sustainable practices and modern techniques, farmers can achieve higher yields and better-quality mangoes, leading to increased income.
  • Environmental Conservation: Sustainable farming practices help conserve natural resources, reduce chemical usage, and promote biodiversity, contributing to a healthier environment.
  • Empowerment of Farmers: Through training and education, farmers gain confidence and independence, empowering them to make informed decisions and improve their livelihoods.
  • Economic Growth: As farmers earn more and invest in their farms, there is a positive impact on the local economy, leading to overall community development.

Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future

Project Mango Unnati represents a significant step towards achieving sustainable agriculture in India. By focusing on mango cultivation, a crop with immense economic and cultural significance, the project highlights the potential of sustainable mango farming to drive positive change.

As the initiative progresses, it is expected to serve as a model for other agricultural projects, demonstrating the power of collaboration and innovation in transforming traditional farming practices. Coca-Cola India and Gram Unnati’s joint effort showcases a commitment to sustainability, community development, and the betterment of farmers’ lives.
